Does it drain the car battery?
Draw is low - single-digit watts per square meter while powered - and the film uses no power at all in its default off/dark state. It's meant to run off a switched (ignition-linked) circuit, not a permanent battery tap.
What's the difference between the 2-Pack and 4-Pack?
The 2-Pack covers one matching pair - either your front side windows or your rear side windows, your choice. The 4-Pack covers both pairs - the whole car, side windows only, not the windshield or rear windshield - in one order.
Does this cover the windshield?
No. This set is sized for side windows only - two or four sheets at 1m x 0.5m, enough for a matching front or rear pair. It isn't cut or intended for windshield or rear windshield installation.
Is this legal for my front windows?
Depends on your region's VLT law, and that applies whether the film is switchable or not. The off/dark state is the one that needs to clear local minimums - check that figure before installing on front side windows specifically, since front glass is more commonly restricted than rear.
Can this help me avoid a tint fine?
Yes - but only when it's switched to clear mode. At 60% VLT, you're compliant in regions where that meets the legal minimum. The default dark state is different - in most regions, it's darker than the law allows. That's why our Zero-Ticket Guarantee only covers clear-mode tickets: if you're ticketed while switched to clear and your local minimum was met, we'll pay it and refund your purchase.
Can I install it myself?
It's a wet-install film like conventional tint, plus two wire leads to the controller. If you're comfortable with a squeegee and basic 12V wiring, most installers manage it in under an hour per pane.
What happens if the controller fails?
The film simply stays in its default dark state - SPD film fails safe to opaque, not to clear.
